Welcome,
I’m a 64-year-old father who spent 4 years in the Marine Corps, then went on to a successful career in law enforcement. I retired from the Miami Beach Police Department after 25 years of service. I’ve had good luck being able to travel to a few countries.
In this blog, some of the posts will be on police issues and family safety. On the police-related posts, I will do my best not to create a post that reflects my opinion only. To say that my approach to policing is a bit “Old School” is an understatement. The badge in my family goes back three generations. If a post helps someone, then it’s all been worth it.
Thank you for stopping by,

I have family that graduated from the Broward County Police Academy. The young man’s family has expressed concern for his welfare in an occupation that lives on our television screen every night. I can’t go back to the streets to train their son so I wrote a few words down. There are no editors involved and I don’t claim to be an author. Some of the chapters are harsh and direct. I hope that something written in this book keeps our young police officers on their feet.
The book is not very long and can be read in a couple of hours. It’s not a storybook and it’s not meant to entertain. I call it a road map to the pension line, with the target audience being the men and women leaving the police academy.
Note:
There are no social media links here to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I’m certainly not “LinkedIn” to any group. There is no subscription form for this site. I don’t collect email addresses. Here is where you will find me. My presence here is discovered by word of mouth mostly. Check back in from time to time for recent posts.
The blog name “See The Man” came from one of my favorite television shows as a child.

Special thanks goes out to,
“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure.
Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
“The solidity of our soul is not formed in the vastness of the arena, it’s formed in a space that often has room for only one.”
In the morning the coffee gets made, a task that has become a pleasure to do. A brief photo journey through my process follows the story of how I got hooked.
