I remember seeing Cicely Tyson in the movie “Sounder” when I was an 11-year-old child. Watching Sounder and seeing the Vietnam War on our television screen each night opened my young life to a world outside our home.
The song, R.E.M.’s SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE by Reuben and the Dark & AG, is just beautiful.
